A New Research Says Sleeping Pills Are Too Dangerous For Your Health

As the proverb goes, early to bed and early to rise, makes a man, healthy, wealthy and wise. There is yet another proverb to emphasize the effect of a good night’s sleep by the saying of, the early bird catches the worm. Your eyes and brain also need the much awaited rest to avoid overexertion. So sleeping seven to eight hours daily is extremely important. However there  are  lots  of insomniacs around who think it very effective to take sleeping pills. While you can certainly get a good night’s sleep, there is many a danger of sleeping pills which you should read about before usage.

Reasons for people taking sleeping tablets

If you are a late night person or a party animal, it will certainly be difficult for you to get a good night’s sleep. People who are natural late sleepers or don’t get their nightly sleep at all can really wake up lethargic, irritable and cranky the following day. In short, sleep deprivation can be telling upon your health and affect our work performance as well as our social relations. But before you opt for a sleeping tablet, take a look at the following negative outcomes.


Dependability should be avoided

Once you have started taking sleeping pills, it is natural for a person to start depending upon them. Now as soon as a person senses that he needs sleeping pills to hit the sack each time, the dosage is automatically increased. It can lead to severe problems and studies have shown that people who use excessive tablets to sleep at night, are prone to premature demises. Some of the medications make you pause while breathing as you sleep. For people who already have sleep apnea, this problem can be detrimental and quite risky.


Changes in behavior pattern


The danger of sleeping pills  also includes rapid changes in behavior pattern. You tend to have memory lapses and muddle up things. Disoriented driving is often the cause of road accidents and this comes from taking excessive sleeping capsules. Excessive intake of sleeping pills can cause severe hangovers and drowsiness in the mornings. It would affect your behavior patterns a lot and also cause you to become distressed or depressed.


Other reactions


There are other reactions to having abundant quantities of sleeping capsules. Sometimes it causes allergy reactions, facial bloating and other erratic changes. Too much use of these pills can be termed as an addiction which is the first step towards taking drugs. Now people can even start hallucinating or imaging events or people.  Sleep walking or sleep eating or even other activities done during the night, unknowingly while you are in sleep, are all results of these overdose of sleeping pills.


Antidotes

While medicines are certainly beneficial for our health, too much of anything, ( read sleeping pills) is bad. So practice healthy sleeping habits and avoid tea or coffee before bedtime. Keep reasonable working hours and abide by them. Go to bed early after a hard day’s work and you will not need sleeping pills ever.
